Magilton hopeful on Miller move

Jim Magilton is hoping to bring Tommy Miller back to Ipswich on loan.

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton is hoping to bring Sunderland midfielder Tommy Miller back to Portman Road on loan.

Sunderland manager Roy Keane has given Miller the go-ahead to go out and get some games under his belt, and Magilton is looking to pounce for the 27-year-old, who left Ipswich for The Black Cats last summer.

"Nothing has happened on that front as yet but our interest is ongoing," said Magilton.

"I would love to bring Tommy back. He's a player I have always liked and with him not being in Sunderland's plans I hope we can come to some arrangement."

Magilton is also trying to sign a defender on loan in time for Ipswich's clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

"We are trying our very best to get someone in before Saturday's game. I hope we can do it because I've felt for some time that we could do with an extra body at the back, someone who might be able to play in more than one position.

"But, as always, it depends on who is available. There are plenty of players out there that we like, but it is sometimes a very different story when you contact their clubs."
