Sunderland winger Carlos Edwards has been ruled out for between six to eight weeks.
Sunderland's bid to be promoted to the Premiership has been dealt a blow with news of injury to Carlos Edwards.
Since arriving in the North East from Luton in the January transfer window the 28-year-old winger has been in sparkling form, but will now be sidelined for the next six to eight weeks with a shoulder injury.
Edwards damaged his shoulder in Sunderland's win against West Brom last weekend and will now be an absentee until the tail-end of the season.
In the nine league appearances the Trinidad & Tobago international has made for Sunderland seven have ended in victory, with his absence to be sorely felt by Black Cats boss Roy Keane.
Sunderland have confirmed that Edwards has only an outside chance of making their last league game against Luton, but they are confident he would be available for the play-offs if they are involved.
