Roy Keane has expressed his satisfaction at Sunderland's newest signings.Sunderland boss Roy Keane has expressed his satisfaction with bringing Kieran Richardson and Michael Chopra to the club.
Keane raided old club Manchester United for Richardson while Chopra has joined from Cardiff for a fee believed to be in the £5million region.
Some eyebrows were raised at the money The Black Cats paid for the ex-Newcastle striker, but Keane thinks it was a good piece of business.
"We're delighted with the signings we've had over the last few days and hopefully there might be one or two in the new week or two," said Keane.
"It is actually nice to get them eventually signed. They are talented players. They are a good age.
"Kieran's got vast experience for such a young player. It's a big challenge for Michael.
"It's not a big price tag, far from it. I think it's great value for us. Michael's goalscoring record is very good.
"It's up to us to provide chances for him and if we're getting balls in the right areas Michael will score goals in the Premiership.
"He's settling very, very quickly. I look at some of the other transfers happening this summer and I'm delighted with the deal."
Keane has praised Richardson for leaving The Red Devils and rejecting other options in order to secure his move to the Stadium of Light.
"Kieran had one or two options. We agreed a deal a bit ago with United, but of course he was away with the Under 21s and then he had a holiday," he continued.
"It's always difficult for a player to leave Man United. Even if you think you're going to be a squad player. So he's been brave in that decision.
"Obviously we're grateful to United. I think again it's a good price, good value for us. Kieron is a good age for us. He's an England international, he's never injured."
