Sunderland captain Dean Whitehead has warned the Premier League that Kenwyne Jones will return from injury bigger and better than before.
The Trinidad & Tobago striker sustained knee ligament damage following a collision with England goalkeeper David James in a friendly at the beginning of June.
But Jones - who top scored for Sunderland last season with seven goals - is now close to regaining fitness and Whitehead recognises his team-mate's return will be a major boost.
"It'll be a massive boost when Kenwyne gets back," Whitehead told the Sunderland Echo.
"He was out training last week, and even though it was all non-contact stuff, it was great to see him getting much closer to a return to the team.
"He's looking massive mind. He must have been doing hours and hours in the gym because he's much bigger than he was last season.
"If people thought he was big and strong last season, just wait until they see him now.
"He was a physical presence last season, but he's bigger now, trust me."
