On-loan Brentford midfielder Adam Reed has returned to Sunderland for treatment on a groin problem.
The 19-year-old joined the Bees on a month-long deal a week ago but has yet to make an appearance after suffering the injury in training on Monday and then breaking down again ahead of Saturday's win over Bristol Rovers. Interim Bees boss Nicky Forster said he expects Reed to be missing for around 10 days, ruling him out of Tuesday's clash with Notts County and next weekend's visit of Dagenham.
