Watford beat Leeds 3-0 in the Championship play-off final in 2006

Ahead of play-off final weekend, we dig into the Sky Sports Vault to look back at a classic from 2006, when Watford beat Leeds.

Aidy Boothroyd's Watford booked their place in the Premier League with a convincing victory in a frantic play-off final in Cardiff.

The Hornets went in front through Jay DeMerit's powerful header from Ashley Young's corner, before James Chambers' deflected effort bounced in off Neil Sullivan.

Darius Henderson completed the win with a penalty on a pitch that was badly cut up after the Heineken Cup final the previous day.

Watford's time in the Premier League was short-lived, tasting relegation just 12 months later having finished bottom with just 28 points.
