The highly rated 19-year-old will move to the Sixfields in one-month long deal.
Wilson (pictured) has moved for Evatt after deciding to go with a 5-3-2 formation, rather than the 4-4-2 the side have been playing for the majority of pre-season.
Captain Ian Sampson is also still ruled our for at least six weeks and so Evatt is likely to partner Daryl Burgess and Richard Hope at the back.
"He has come in to boost our defensive options while Ian Sampson is out," said Wilson.
"He's not come here to sit in the stands and he is a young lad with great ability and good potential.
"I hope he can follow in the footsteps of Liam Chilvers here and the move will benefit both him and the club.
"I'm sure all supporters join me in wishing him the best of luck for his stay with us."
