Derby boss Billy Davies is keen to tie Morten Bisgaard down to a new deal.
Derby County boss Billy Davies has revealed he is keen to tie Morten Bisgaard down to a new contract.
The Danish midfielder sees his current contract expire at the end of the season but The Rams are now looking to keep hold of the 31-year-old.
Despite concerns over Bisgaard's longevity, Davies says he is ready to open talks regarding a new deal after the Dane's performances so far this season.
"I am very much aware of Morten's age but he is in excellent condition and I feel it is time to open up discussions," said Davies.
"It certainly will not be a long-term contract but there will be a contract because I feel he can be a key player for us."
Davies has also indicated he may offer a deal to Clyde youngster Craig Bryson after the 20-year-old impressed on trial at Pride Park.
"We will now sit down with him and have a good conversation with regards to the future," Davies added.
The club have also opened talks with Paul Peschisolido, Lee Grant and Seth Johnson, with Paul Boertien also in line for a new deal.
