Nathan Doyle looks set to sign for Hull after Derby County recalled the defender from his loan spell at Bradford.
Just last week The Rams gave Colin Todd permission to keep the 20-year-old at Valley Parade until the end of the season.
However, Doyle has returned to Derby to allow the Pride Park side to transfer his registration to another club on a permanent basis, understood to be Hull.
Todd has already lost Dean Windass and Jermaine Johnson this week and is ruing the departure of Doyle as well.
"It is always a risk you run when you bring in players on loan. You can lose them at any time if they are transferred full time," Todd told the club's official website.
"It is another massive blow for us with a player we have nurtured being moved on elsewhere."
