Norwich manager Peter Grant says he is 'desperate' to keep Dickson Etuhu.
Norwich manager Peter Grant says he is 'desperate' to ensure Dickson Etuhu remains with The Canaries next season.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a switch to Premier League newcomers Derby, where the midfielder would be reunited with former boss Billy Davies, whom he was led by when the duo were at Preston.
However, if Grant gets his way, Etuhu will remain at Carrow Road, and he says the Nigerian's performance last season were 'top class'.
"I'm not surprised at that [rumour]," said Grant.
"He's been top class for us but we want Dickson Etuhu here. He's a big part of my plans.
"I think he proved that last season, the way he handled the critics and the way he has worked his socks off during the summer.
"I'm desperately hoping he stays part of that."
Etuhu made 48 appearances for Grant's side last season, netting seven times from midfield.
