Leeds United new boy Adam Smith is confident of making the step up to the Championship after joining on loan for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old signed from Tottenham on transfer deadline day after a successful five-month spell with League One high-flyers MK Dons.
The England under-21 international is yet to break into the White Hart Lane first-team, but has impressed during spells with Wycombe, Torquay, Bournemouth as well as the Dons.
The move to Leeds will be the highly-rated full-back's first taste of Championship football, but he told skysports.com he is relishing the chance to face top quality strikers on a regular basis.
"I did a whole season at Bournemouth and the first-half of this one at MK Dons, so I felt that it was time for me to play at a higher level," commented Smith.
"I don't think that it is a massive step up to be honest, but there is obviously a higher calibre of clubs in the Championship.
"You are playing against a better quality of players and they will punish you more, so you've got to be on your game all the time and at the end of the day every player wants to test themselves against the best and I'm no different.
"Birmingham showed that the other night because I was really impressed with the performance first-half, but obviously second-half we just couldn't handle Nikola Zigic.
"I saw a lot of positives from the game though and I'm looking forward to being a part of it."
