Blackpool boss Colin Hendry has been keen to bolster his defensive ranks and could use utility man Rob Edwards in his back four next season.
Edwards made 27 appearances for Preston last season but has made the short move to Blackpool in a bid to guarantee first-team football.
Although predominately a midfield player, it is expected he will play a more defensive role next season.
Former Wrexham favourite, Paul Edwards, is a pacey midfielder who is to fill Blackpool's troublesome left side.
The 24-year-old began his career at Manchester City before moving to Swindon Town and then on to Wrexham.
