Preston North End have signed Notts County centre back Kelvin Wilson on loan.
Preston North End have moved to add cover for the departed Chris Lucketti by signing Notts County centre back Kelvin Wilson on loan.
The Lilywhites were in need of a central defender after Lucketti opted to join Championship rivals Sheffield United on loan for the rest of the season - with a view to a permanent deal in the summer with The Blades.
Wilson arrives at Deepdale on a similar loan for the rest of the current campaign - with a view to making the move a permanent arrangement in the summer.
The 20-year-old believes the jump up two divisions will be a test of his abilities.
"It's a big club going forward and that's what I have always wanted, to move to a big club and I've got my chance now," Wilson told Preston's official website.
"I first heard about it the other day, but only knew it was serious when I found out after training at Notts County today.
"As soon as I heard about the opportunity, there wasn't much making my mind up. It's a big club and it is where I want to be."
