Paul Simpson has refused to set a date for Neil Mellor's return to the first team.
Preston North End manager Paul Simpson has refused to set a date for Neil Mellor's return to the first team.
The striker, who signed from Liverpool in the summer, has yet to make his debut for North End.
Mellor was regaining fitness until he suffered a knock in a reserve game and everyone at the club is disappointed.
Boss Paul Simpson said: ǣThere was a real disappointment when he got himself to a good level and he got a whack in a reserve game and I know he was on a bit of a downer for a day or two.
Ç£We're not going to set any dates for him. It's a case of when he's right and we believe that he's right, we'll introduce him again.Ç¥
Simpson also revealed that he is ready to listen to offers for North End players out on loan.
Keeper Andy Lonergan, along with Brian Stock, Jason Jarrett and Andy Smith are all currently playing their football away from Deepdale and Lonergan is the only one confirmed to return.
Simpson added: ǣAndy Lonergan is definitely just for games. The others I would maybe look at doing something permanently.
Ç£But until that decision comes there's no decision to be made.Ç¥
