Preston midfielder Alan McCormack has made a loan switch to Southend United.
Preston North End midfielder Alan McCormack has made a loan switch to Championship rivals Southend United. The 22-year-old has moved to Roots Hall until the New Year - with a view to earning a permanent move when the transfer window reopens in January.
McCormack has wasted little time in quitting Deepdale after requesting a transfer earlier this week due to a lack of first-team opportunities.
Shrimpers assistant boss Paul Brush is confident McCormack will prove an ideal addition to Southend's ranks, as they gear themselves for a bid to stave off relegation.
"Alan's not afraid to put his foot in where it's needed and you need a bit of that in The Championship," said Brush.
