West Brom boss Tony Pulis has confirmed he was interested in Crystal Palace signing Jeffrey Schlupp.

Pulis missed out on one of his top January targets, Morgan Schneiderlin, who joined Everton on Thursday.

The Baggies boss confirmed Schlupp was on his radar, but Sky sources understand the winger has now joined Crystal Palace in a £12.5m deal.

"I'm after certain targets,” said Pulis, speaking on Friday morning before the news of Schlupp's transfer to Palace broke.

“We are trying to get a level of player in here that will improve us. We're trying desperately hard.

"It's a small pool that we are fishing from. We need to strengthen in the middle of the pitch and obviously a wide player.
