The Trondheim outfit have agreed that both MacBeth Sibaya and George Koumantarakis will head to Norway for talks.
The duo represented South Africa in the World Cup finals, and Sibaya (pictured) and Koumantarakis's arrival will put a move for Bodo/Glimt's Bengt Saeternes and United States international Brian McBride on ice.
"They wouldn't take the plane all the way from South Africa if they didn't want to sign or show an interest in a move," Rosenborg director Rune Bratseth told TV2.
Manager Nils Arne Eggen is hopeful the bold raid will come off, despite not seeing the players in the flesh.
"I have studied both players closely on video and they seem to be very good players," stated Eggen.
Sibaya, 24, plays in midfield for Jomo Cosmos and is wanted in England by Premiership new boys West Brom.
Striker Koumantarakis plays in Switzerland for FC Basel, but is considering the switch to Lerkendal Stadion.
