Reports speculated The Baggies had made an offer for the Belgian international, however the club's secretary Jacques De Nolf has exclusively told planetfootball.com that no bid has been made.
"I have seen it in the newspaper, but they (West Brom) have not contacted us," said De Nolf. "I've read in the newspaper it seems to be West Bromwich Albion, but I don't know."
In fact the secretary has denied that any clubs have made an offer, adding: "There have been no offers, not for the moment.
"You can always speculate, but in life you can never say never. For the moment it's not our wish to let him go. We have a very important game this week - the route into the Champions League is open if we qualify.
"If we qualify then it will be more difficult to let him go, but so far there have been no negotiations regarding him."
Albion manager Gary Megson is keen to strengthen his back line after Darren Moore picked up an injury in The Baggies' 3-1 home defeat to Leeds United on Saturday.
