Chambers has fallen further down the pecking order at The Hawthorns following the influx of defenders to the club over the summer and whilst his brother has made two first team appearances, James has made just one.
Albion manager Gary Megson has now conceded that the 23-year-old can leave on a loan basis only since the likes of Thomas Gaardsoe, Joost Volmer, Sekou Berthe and Bernt Haas prevent him from experiencing any regular first-team action.
"James had a chat with Gary Megson and he said that due to the size of the squad his first-team opportunities were limited at the moment," Chambers' agent Mel Eves said.
"He has agreed to circulate James' name for a loan move so that he can get some regular first-team action.
"James just wants to be playing regularly and hopefully this decision will give him the chance to do that."
Recent interested parties in the player have included Stoke City, Norwich City and Tranmere Rovers but Chambers' versatility should mean that there will be an even longer list of potential suitors once word spreads of his availability.
