Hughes pleads guilty

West Bromwich Albion striker Lee Hughes has pleaded guilty to failing to stop after a road accident, in which a 57-year-old man was killed last November.

The former Coventry City man also pleaded guilty to a second offence of failing to report an accident after a motor collision near Coventry last autumn.

The 28-year-old entered the pleas at Coventry Crown Court on Monday morning, where he is set to stand trial for a further charge of causing death by dangerous driving - a claim the striker has denied.

The pleas stem back to an accident that occurred last November, in which Douglas Graham - a 57-year-old passenger in another car - was killed.
