The youngster is currently on loan from Manchester United and opened his account for The Baggies with a strike against relegation rivals Norwich City in February.
However, not content to rest on his laurels, the 20-year-old is now targeting a more regular appearance on the scoresheet after hitting the woodwork against Birmingham and Southampton in recent weeks.
"I've gone close on a few occasions," said Richardson.
"I had the shot against The Blues which hit the post and I also hit the crossbar against Southampton.
"I do feel I've got the ability to score from a long way out."
Bryan Robson takes his Albion side to champions-elect Chelsea on Tuesday, and his young winger is confident that the Midlands club can put up a good fight against their illustrious counterparts.
"I'm just hoping that, against Chelsea on Tuesday, the ball might go in the net," Richardson continued.
"That's a massive game for us and they are going to be hard to stop but I feel our performances away from home have deserved more points than we have picked up."
