Robbo stands firm over Gera

Bryan Robson has vowed to retain the services of Zoltan Gera.

Bryan Robson has vowed to retain the services of Zoltan Gera and is eager to add to his squad before the transfer window slams shut.

Gera is frustrated about having to spend a season in The Championship and said recently that he wanted a return to the top flight.

Robson is aware of the Hungarian's frustration, but will not consider letting him move on.

"Zoltan is going nowhere," said Robson. "Zoltan is getting on with his training and is putting plenty of effort into matches.

"He has two years on his contract and I can guarantee he is going nowhere."

Robson's charges have scored three goals this term, but drew a blank at Southampton, and he is keen to bring new attacking talent to the club.

"I need a couple of strikers before deadline day," he added. "The trialist has gone but we still have other irons in the fire.

"When Nathan (Ellington) comes off we don't have anyone to offer that goal threat so we hope to get something sorted this week."

One player that Robson will not pursue his interest in is Togo World Cup striker Adekanmi Olufade following his brief trial at The Hawthorns this past week.
