West Brom defender Paul McShane has had his red card against Burnley rescinded.
West Brom have received a boost with the news that Paul McShane's red card against Burnley has been rescinded.
McShane was controversially sent-off during Monday's 3-2 defeat at Turf Moor after a clash of heads with James O'Connor.
The decision infuriated Baggies boss Tony Mowbray and they launched an appeal against the sending off.
Their appeal was supported by Burnley manager Steve Cotterill who wrote to the FA's disciplinary committee suggesting the red card should be over-turned.
The FA have now upheld the appeal and McShane will not be forced to serve a ban.
The news is a major lift for West Brom as they look to their seal their spot in the play-offs in the last two games of the campaign.
Meanwhile, West Brom have recalled defender Steve Watson from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.
Watson was due to spend the rest of the season at Hillsborough after arriving on loan in February, but West Brom have drafted the versatile defender back to help provide cover for the injured Curtis Davies and suspended Neil Clement.
