League leaders Brighton have agreed to extend Chris Wood's loan spell from West Brom until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old striker's initial two-month loan expired after Monday's win over Exeter, but he will now be available for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Portsmouth providing the paperwork is completed in time. "We want to have Chris until the end of the season with the option to play him on Saturday, so I'm sure he will be happy," said Seagulls boss Gus Poyet. New Zealand international Wood has scored two goals in six appearances since arriving on the south coast. He said: "My game is improving week in, week out and I still think I've got a lot to come, so hopefully I can show that over the ext couple of months."
