Hurst mulls over Shrews stay

Shrewsbury are waiting on a decision from James Hurst over whether he wants to extend his loan stay at the Shropshire club.

The West Brom right-back has spent the past two months at the Greenhous Meadow and manager Graham Turner is keen to keep him longer. "We're still waiting for a reply from West Brom on James," Turner told Town's official website. "I spoke to them on Monday and the lad's not made his mind up yet whether he wants to stay. "He's getting regular football here at a good standard and it's all part of his education but if he decides to go somewhere else then Jermaine Grandison is now fit and so is Carl Regan. If James wants to stay then we would welcome that and if he goes then we move on." Meanwhile, Turner has expressed his disappointment after Everton midfielder James Wallace opted not to prolong his time with Shrews and instead pen a loan deal with League One side Stevenage. "We wanted to keep him for another month but he's decided he wanted to play at the highest level he could," Turner said.
