DR Congo international wants Baggies to retain their experience

West Brom's Youssouf Mulumbu is desperate for the club to keep the leaders of the team in Jonas Olsson and Keith Andrews. The tough-tackling midfielder wants the Baggies to retain their core of experience players so that they can maintain their progress. Olsson has a further year to run on his contract while Keith Andrews only signed a six-month deal when he moved from Blackburn in January. However, despite the uncertainty over their futures, the duo have continued to impress on the pitch.

Big player

"It's very hard when a player is dealing with his contract but Jonas is a big player and we need him," Mulumbu told the Express and Star. "He is the kind of player every player wants. He shouts on the pitch and brings people with him and that's the type of player we need in the team. "He is a very big player for West Brom and I hope he will speak with the chairman and Dan Ashworth so they can find the right situation for him." Regarding Andrews, Mulumbu added: "He's a really good player. "He has experience, is a good player and exactly what we need. He's a box-to-box player who can score. We are blessed with some players here like Scharner and Gera and they, like Keith, bring experience. "One of his biggest strengths is that he knows what to do. When you watch him play he gives you confidence. He talks to you. That is a good part of Keith."
