Craig Dawson was gutted to concede so late against Manchester United in their 2-2 draw

Craig Dawson remained upbeat after Daley Blind’s late leveller forced West Brom to settle for a 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

The hosts twice took the lead as Stephane Sessegnon’s early opener was cancelled out by substitute Marouane Fellaini, while Saido Berahino’s strike appeared to have secured victory until Blind pounced in the 87th minute at The Hawthorns.

Three points would have moved Alan Irvine’s side up to seventh in the Premier League, but Dawson refused to be too downcast after they edged further away from the bottom three.

I’m enjoying my football. The goals are coming; it’s great that I’m contributing to the team

“It was a great team performance and we did well to get the second goal,” the defender told Sky Sports. “It’s a shame we couldn’t hold on in the end.

“First time playing against United, it was difficult. They’ve got so many great players, but I think the team played really well tonight.

“We’ve got to take that into the next game. We’ll take the positives out of tonight.”

Berahino enhanced his growing reputation with his sixth goal of the season and the England Under-21 international is glad to play an influential role for the Midlands side this season.
