PSG out to steal M'Bami from Wolves

PARIS SAINT GERMAIN are reported to be preparing an eleventh hour swoop for Wolves target Modeste M'Bami after missing out on French international Benoit Pedretti.

Reports in France suggest that PSG are hoping to steal Cameroon international M'Bami from Premiership new boys Wolves despite the 20-year-old looking set for a switch to Molineux.

PSG had hoped to snap up Pedretti this week, but the player is now set to join Marseille after they offered a more lucrative deal than PSG.

Sochaux president Jean Claude Plessis was unhappy that the deal had fallen through after agreeing the move with PSG.

"I am annoyed, the player is being led by his entourage," fumed Plessis.

"This is very damaging for the boy. Everyone is losing."

PSG president Francis Graille was also disappointed that the move had fallen through.

"We are sad," said Graille. "I had the player and I am disappointed for him but we could not wait anymore."

PSG will now turn their attentions to M'Bami and hope to agree a deal for the Sedan ace ahead of Wolves.

M'Bami flew into England over the weekend to seal a move to Wolves, but PSG are now ready to offer him the chance to stay in France with a lucrative five-year deal.

The news will come as a major blow to Wolves who had thought they had beaten off a host of clubs to land the talented midfielder.
