Wolverhampton Wanderers have terminated the contract of Gabor Gyepes.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have cut their losses on Gabor Gyepes by terminating the contract of the injury-plagued defender by mutual consent.Gyepes last played for the club in March 2006 when he sustained a serious knee injury in a Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Hungarian international has struggled with his fitness ever since, with a 20 minute reserve run-out in February the limit of his input so far this season.
Wolves have now terminated Gyepes' deal, which still had one year to run, and manager Mick McCarthy has wished the 25-year-old well as he returns to his homeland.
"Gabor will continue his rehab in Hungary," McCarthy told the club's official website.
"It's been a long time for him to be out. Every time he looked like coming back he has had another setback.
"He's not finished and I hope he can get back paying again soon. I wish him well for the future."
Gyepes made 24 appearances for Wolves after joining the club from Ferencvaros in June 2005.
