Lewis Gobern has agreed a new two-year contract to stay with Wolves.Lewis Gobern has agreed a new two-year contract to stay with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The winger's deal was due to expire, but he has opted to pledge his future to Mick McCarthy's side until 2009.
He made 12 appearances last season, but failed to feature in 2007 after his campaign was curtailed by hamstring trouble.
Gobern admits he was not aiming to quit Molineux and is happy to have resolved his contract situation with the Championship club.
"Last season was something of a nightmare for me with the injuries I picked up," Gobern told the club's official website. "It was really frustrating for me especially knowing that my contract was up this summer.
"There were one or two things that I wanted to get sorted out before I signed, but there has never been an issue with the gaffer and we had a good chat the other day and sorted things out.
"I never wanted to leave the club - I love it here and think that under Mick things are moving in the right direction and I want to be a part of it.
"So I'm delighted to be able to sign this new deal."
