Luton manager Kevin Blackwell has reiterated that he could stay at Kenilworth Road if new owners can be found.
The Hatters boss has handed in his resignation and will leave Luton, who are in administration, in February after administrators sold players without his permission.
David Edwards has become the latest player to leave the cash-strapped club following the midfielder's departure to Wolves for an undisclosed fee, after agreeing a two-year deal at Molineux.
Luton have set a deadline of 5pm on Monday for new owners to buy the club and Blackwell remains optimistic that buyers will be found and has hinted that he could still have a future with the League One outfit.
"It was a difficult decision to make," Blackwell told Sky Sports News when asked if he regretted resigning as manager. "But sometimes in football you have to be in control of your destiny.
"Now that things are calming down a bit, we will see what happens at the end of the day. I'm just taking each day as it comes."
And Blackwell is also hopeful that he will not lose any more members of his squad ahead of Tuesday's FA Cup third round replay away to Liverpool, which is live on Sky Sports 2.
However, goalkeeper Dean Brill is thought to be close to leaving Luton, while forwards Calvin Andrew and Drew Talbot are rumoured to be targets of Plymouth and Blackwell has confirmed the trio's agents are in contact with other clubs.
"Their agents are talking to clubs, but I'm hopeful nothing will happen until after the Liverpool game," added Blackwell. "We can't afford to lose any more.
"Whoever I put out will put on a good show and we've got to be smart and clever and if we're not Liverpool will certainly find the weaknesses.
"If you can't look forward to this sort of match you shouldn't be in the game and that's why I'm very confident that whoever I put out will run themselves into the ground.
"Who knows, on the day we might have a bit of luck. I think we deserve a little bit right now."
