Sheffield Wednesday's on-loan defender Danny Batth has urged fellow loanee Ben Marshall to follow his lead by extending his stay.
Stoke winger Marshall has been in fine form for the Owls this season, helping the club climb into second in League One and into leaders Charlton's slipstream.
The 20-year-old's current loan period is set to expire on Sunday, but Batth, who recently extended his own loan stint from Wolves, hopes to see Marshall remain at Hillsborough beyond this weekend.
"Ben is a good friend of mine and he has been great for us since joining the club on loan, so obviously I'd love to see him stay, but that decision lies with him at the end of the day," Batth told Sky Sports.
Great player
"He has been a great player for this club so far and whatever happens I'm sure the fans will wish him well for the future."
Batth added: "The main thing for me is playing regularly and performing at a big club like Sheffield Wednesday is good for me on a personal note.
"Our league position is something that I want to see out until the end of the season at least and help us climb back into the Championship."
The Owls host Charlton on Saturday knowing that a win would close the gap between them to just two points and Batth is relishing one of the biggest games of the season.
He continued: "We are right on their heels now, so it is another very big game and hopefully it will be a big shock for them when they come to Hillsborough and see what we've generated this season.
"We are ready for that sort of test now and hopefully we can turn them over and lay down a marker for the rest of the division."
