Midfielder says the whole Wolves team are 'fully behind TC'

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry insists new boss Terry Connor has the full support of the dressing room. The 29-year-old is confident Connor has what it takes to steer the relegation-threatened club away from the drop zone and points to his ability to motivate his players. Wolves were bottom of the Premier League with 27 games played last season but managed to climb into 17th place and safety. Henry recalls how on the final day of the season Connor gave the half time team talk with Wolves 3-0 down at home to Blackburn and facing relegation.

Influence

Wolves dramatically hauled themselves back out of the bottom three on goals scored by making it 3-2 with just three minutes of the season to go and Henry hails Connor's influence. "Terry Connor had a massive part to play on that last day," Karl Henry told Telegraph. "He really motivated everyone. He just said, 'Look we've come this far over the last two seasons, it's come down to this and we're giving it away.' "He said, 'It's going to come down to goal difference, the way it is, it's so tight. If we get the next goal, there is a chance that will be enough. "We went out, second half, and ended up doing the job, albeit by the skin of our teeth. "He is a calming influence. He's tactically very astute and pays a lot of attention to detail. As soon as the appointment was made, he won the players over. "We're fully behind TC and he's fully behind us."
