Finnish keeper Niemi failed to come out for the second half of the win over Bristol City, while Delap departed the Ashton Gate pitch after an hour.
Niemi has a groin complaint, while Delap is nursing a calf injury, but the pair will be given every opportunity to make the home encounter with Kevin Keegan's Citizens.
Saints physio Jim Joyce told the club's website: "It is still too early to say whether they will be okay for Saturday.
"We have to wait for the injuries to settle down and then we will have a good look at them. But neither are thought to be serious. They were tight rather than tears or strains and we took them off as a precaution."
