Southampton midfielder Matt Oakley has suffered a new setback.Southampton's injury-hit midfielder Matt Oakley has suffered a new setback, and once more gone under the surgeon's knife.
Oakley has been out for 14 months with ligament damage to his knee, but needed another minor procedure to shave off a bone spur in the troublesome joint.
The operation has set back Oakley's recuperation by a month, but the 27-year-old should soon be getting back to training.
"It has set him back a bit and it will be three or four weeks at least before he is back to where he was last week," said Saints physio Jim Joyce.
"It's just a small piece of bone that needed shaving off. It is only minor surgery but we will see how Matt reacts."
