Dean Morgan scored a dramatic late winner for Luton against Southampton.Luton Town maintained their flying start to life in the Championship with a 3-2 win over Southampton at Kenilworth Road.
The Hatters, who beat Crystal Palace, another of the teams relegated from the Premiership, at the weekend, trailed twice to Harry Redknapp's side and needed a last-minute winner from Dean Morgan.
The winger, snapped up from Reading in the summer, beat two challenges as he cut in from the left wing and then curled an unstoppable shot over the outstanding Antti Niemi.
Niemi had produced stunning saves to keep out headers from Steve Howard and Warren Feeney, but he was powerless to prevent Morgan's winner.
It had all begun so well for the Saints, who made a positive start and took the lead through Matt Oakley, who scored left-footed on the turn after good work from Danny Higginbotham.
Kevin Nicholls finished off a superb move with a powerful right-foot shot to draw Luton level, but the visitors went in front again on the stroke of half time when Kenwyne Jones outjumped Dean Brill and headed into the empty net.
Luton piled on the pressure in the second half and got their reward when Nicholls crossed from the left and Brkovic headed in at the far post.
Nicholls then came close with a 25-yard free-kick before Morgan had the last word.
