Harry's Eastwood admiration

Harry Redknapp has hinted he could be ready to bid for Southend's Freddy Eastwood.

Southampton boss Harry Redknapp has hinted he could be ready to launch a bid for Southend's much-vaunted striker Freddy Eastwood.

Eastwood has caught the eye this term with some stellar displays for The Shrimpers, with his hat-trick on his 22nd birthday against Bristol City raising his stock further.

Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham are rumoured to be keeping tabs on the forward and now Redknapp has hinted at a move by revealing his admiration for the striker.

"Good strikers are like gold dust," said Redknapp.

"We all know about Lee Trundle at Swansea, Wycombe's Nathan Tyson and Eastwood.

"He's good, there's no doubt about that. But when you sign players from lower down the scale, you are taking a chance."
