Paul Sturrock is staying coy on reports that Yoann Folly will join Sheffield Wednesday.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock has refused to comment on rumours linking Yoann Folly with a permanent move to the club.
The 21-year-old was on loan at Hillsborough for the tail end of last season and played a key role in helping The Owls to secure Championship safety.
However, he was expected to return to Southampton this season after being offered a new contract by Saints boss George Burley.
Reports in the media have said that Folly is currently training with Wednesday, but Sturrock has refused to confirm the situation either way.
"Yoann Folly is a player I would be interested in," he told the club's official website.
Sturrock admitted last week that Sheffield Wednesday had re-entered the race to sign Liverpool's Scott Carson, but he is still keen to keep his goalkeeping options open.
"There is a wee chink of light after a cooling-off period when I thought there was no hope," he explained.
"There are a lot of clubs clambering for Scott. There would be a lot of water to go under the bridge for him to arrive at Sheffield Wednesday but I should have a clearer picture by the early stages of the America trip."
