Pochettino's side could have drawn level with Arsenal at the top of the table, if they had claimed all three points in north London.
However, Boruc gifted Arsenal the opening goal midway through the first half when he dithered on the ball inside his own area before being robbed of possession by Olivier Giroud, who flicked a shot into an empty net.
Giroud then converted a late penalty to condemn Southampton to only a second Premier League defeat of the season, but Pochettino was in no mood to criticise Boruc.
"We all know what happened," Pochettino told Sky Sports. "We saw clearly what happened on the pitch, but in this case we want to support our players even more.
"These things can happen in football and, at the same time, we competed well, even after conceding that unfortunate goal.
"We want to work in the future, so that these mistakes don't happen again."
Pochettino also accepted that errors like Boruc's can happen as a result of the style of football he wants Southampton to continue playing.
He added: "This is our style, that's how we play. When it goes well, we receive compliments and when it goes wrong, as it did today, we don't get those compliments.
"It's the negative side of it, but the most important thing is that we believe in how we play and we want to carry on playing that way as it has given us good results."
