Higginbotham happy at Stoke

Sunderland target Danny Higginbotham says he is happy at Stoke.

Danny Higginbotham has shrugged off Sunderland's interest in him by saying he is happy at Stoke.

Stoke rebuffed Sunderland's overtures for Higginbotham last month after Roy Keane made a move for his former Manchester United team-mate.

The 28-year-old insists the speculation over his future will not affect him and that he will continue to give his all for Stoke until he is told otherwise.

"There's not a lot I can say about the interest because other people take care of situations like that," Higginbotham told the Sentinel.

"All I can say is I'm a Stoke player and I just want to carry on concentrating on my football. It won't disrupt me at all because I just take something like that as a compliment.

"Everybody wants to play in the Premiership, but until somebody else tells me different, then I remain a Stoke City player and will start the season at Stoke.

"I came here to do a job - and you want it to end with this club getting into the Premiership."
