Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel is looking forward to the reign of Louis van Gaal at the Allianz Arena. The Dutch tactician is set to take over at the helm of the German giants on 1st July after guiding AZ Alkmaar to the Eredivisie title last term. He replaces Jurgen Klinsmann as the permanent manager after the former Germany boss was fired in April. Jupp Heynckes took over as caretaker coach in between, guiding the side to second in the Bundesliga and qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Known tactician

Van Bommel told kicker-Sportmagazin: "Louis van Gaal is a manager who looks at detail and he is a known tactician. "He will continue what has been started by Jupp Heynckes, who is a marvellous manager, as a person he is just excellent." He added: "Louis van Gaal does not focus on an individual player, he tries to up the standard of the team."
Sorensen watched
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich scouts were reportedly at Saturday's Denmark versus Sweden game to watch Stoke goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen. The Danish shot-stopper was also watched in April by the club.
