Soccer AM: Peter Crouch throws his hat into the ring for 2015 Dance Off

Crouch talks family life, Stoke's fear factor and entering our Dance Off

Peter Crouch of Stoke celebrates with Erik Pieters

Robot master Peter Crouch says he'll ask his agent about participating in this year's Soccer AM Dance Off.

The Soccer AM Dance Off has been taken to another level as Peter Crouch has thrown his hat into the ring to take part - if his agent gives him the green light.

Speaking as a guest on our Christmas Day special alongside Jimmy Bullard, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Neil Ruddock, the England international threw his hat into the ring for the New Year dancing extravaganza. Six-time Dance Off champion Rocket is quaking in his boots.

Stoke forward Crouch is famous for showing his moves on the football pitch after finding the back of the net. Crouch celebrated his pre-2006 World Cup friendly goals for England against Hungary and Jamaica by bringing the robot dance back into the mainstream.

When asked whether he fancied a stab at taking on the crew in the 2015 Dance Off, he replied: “I’ll see if I’m available. I’ll speak to my agent,” whilst nodding his head.

You know you want to, Peter.

Crouch also spoke about how much he's loving life at Stoke under Mark Hughes and gave us an insight into the famous atmosphere at the Britannia Stadium that has the ability to freeze visiting players.

"I've been on the other side of it when playing for Liverpool and Spurs, and thinking ‘oh, here we go',” he said.

“It’s the stigma associated with the Britannia Stadium. The way we used to play was to get the ball in box and everyone was six foot. We’re a little bit different now though.

“I love it when the big teams come to Stoke. You can see the fear in their faces. They’ve got the gloves on and they don’t want to be there. It’s something we play on. Something that we enjoy and we do seem to beat the big teams at the Britannia. Long may that continue.”
