Colchester forward Macauley Bonne has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
Bonne, 20, will remain at the Weston Homes Community Stadium until at least the summer of 2018.
"It's a bit of a weight off my mind and I'm pleased it was sorted out over the summer," he told the club's official website.
"We start back for pre-season next week so I can fully focus on getting fit and then cracking on with the new season."
Bonne has scored 13 goals in 62 appearances for the U's since arriving from hometown club Ipswich in 2013, but has made only 22 starts.
