Mike Newell's side have been in buoyant form this season, but Martin Allan's Bees have a battling reputation and their cause on Tuesday evening was helped when Luton striker Steve Howard was sent off on 18 minutes for violent conduct.
The extra man made the difference for the home side and Deon Burton (pictured) put Brentford in front four minutes before the break.
