Luton Town moved seven points clear at the top with a 3-2 win at Hartlepool.Luton Town have extended their lead at the top of League One to seven points after a fine 3-2 victory at Hartlepool United.
Hatters boss Mike Newell returned to his former club and ended Pools' undefeated home record with goals from Chris Coyne, Enoch Showunmi and Kevin Foley.
Despite a Sol Davis own-goal and substitute Matty Robson scoring for Neal Cooper's side, Hartlepool proved less potent in front of goal than their opponents.
Luton took the lead midway through the first half when Coyne's fine drive from the edge of the box found its way past Pools goalkeeper Demitrios Konstantopoulos for 1-0.
Just before the hour mark, Showunmi doubled the visitors' lead with a fine left foot shot before Hartlepool pulled a goal back from a goalmouth scramble, with Davis finding his own net for 2-1.
Luton, however, soon restored their two goal lead when Foley found the back of the net on 64 minutes (pictured) before Robson finished well with his right foot to make it 3-2.
Bournemouth missed the chance to move into the play-off places after going down to 3-1 defeat at Colchester United.
Warren Cummings gave The Cherries the lead just after the break before Gavin Johnson made it 1-1 on 54 minutes.
The U's then won it with two goals in a minute from Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu and Neil Danns at Layer Road.
An Adebayo Akinfenwa brace gave Torquay United a vital 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Peterborough United at Plainmoor.
Despite Calum Willock's second half strike for The Posh, Torquay moved three points clear of the relegation places with the win while Barry Fry's side remain second from bottom.
