Swansea booked their place in the LDV Vans Trophy final with a 2-1 victory at Colchester.

Swansea booked their place in the LDV Vans Trophy final with a 2-1 victory at Colchester.

Leading 1-0 from the first leg the Welsh outfit saw off their Essex opponents to book a date with Carlisle at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on April 2.

After a goalless first period Phil Parkinson's Colchester side took the lead through prolific midfielder Neil Danns (pictured) on 46 minutes.

With the tie hanging in the balance Kenny Jackett's men then upped the ante as Leon Britton claimed an equaliser just six minutes later.

The Swans were enjoying a lead over the two legs but secured their supremacy when striker Leon Knight also found the back of the net on 56 minutes to wrap up the Southern Area final.
