Lambert's pursuit of former team-mate criticised by Dundee boss

Dundee manager Jocky Scott is unhappy with Colchester United boss Paul Lambert's conduct in chasing Rab Douglas and has reiterated the goalkeeper is not for sale. Lambert has been looking to sign his former Celtic team-mate to provide competition for new signing Ben Williams at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. Douglas also played under Lambert at Wycombe Wanderers, but has 12 months remaining on his current contract at Dundee. Scott understands why Lambert is keen to sign the former Scotland international, but is adamant the 37-year-old will not be leaving Dens Park. "They can come up with any figure they want - big Rab is not available," Scott told the Dundee Courier. "He is happy here and like the rest of us looking forward to the new season, and why would I want to let the best goalkeeper in the league go? "I don't know if this is how things are done nowadays but, for me, if you are interested in a player you conduct your business manager to manager - not through the media. "Paul Lambert is a mate of Rab's and you can understand him wanting someone he knows. But at least have the decency to phone me and either confirm their interest or to explain that what's been written is a lot of rubbish."
