Colchester United striker Clive Platt insists stories linking him with a move away from the club are wide of the mark.
The former MK Dons target man scored ten goals for the U's last season and has been linked with a move to League One rivals Norwich this summer.
However, the 31-year-old insists he is more than happy to stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium and claims any suggestion he is poised for an imminent exit is merely paper talk.
"I've heard all the stories regarding my future, but as far as I'm aware it has been all paper talk," Platt told
skysports.com.
"The manager pulled me to one side in Germany and told me that I was in his plans for next season and that the stories outlining that the club were willing to listen to offers for me were wide of the margin.
"He wants me here and I want to be part of the club because it's a club that are on the up, I believe. There have been no official bids or enquiries that I know of."
He added: "It did put a little bit of doubt in my mind because before Paul Lambert pulled me to one side the club hadn't told me of any intention to sell me, so it came as a bit of a shock.
"However, the gaffer was quick to play down the stories and told me on the same day that the rumours started that I was part of his plans last season and that he still regarded me as a part of his squad for next season as well.
"He wants me to be a part of this season's success at Colchester and I am more than happy to stay."
