Colchester remain interested in signing veteran winger Nolberto Solano, but have denied reports a deal has been done.
Former Newcastle and West Ham star Solano, 35, has been training with the Us ahead of a potential switch from his current club - Peruvian side Universitario.
Manager Aidy Boothroyd is looking to bolster his squad as he bids to maintain the club's promotion push from League One into the second half of the season, but he insists nothing has been agreed with Solano just yet.
"Those reports are a little premature," Boothroyd told the club's official website.
"We still retain a strong interest in Nobby and we are still talking to him, but no deal has been signed yet."
