Dunne satisfied with draw

Colchester manager Joe Dunne had mixed feelings about his side's 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury Town.

Dunne was pleased with much of what he saw from his side, particularly the quality of the goals from Craig Eastmond and Sanchez Watt. But he was frustrated to throw away the 2-0 in the closing stages. "We're not good enough to step back off teams, which I thought we did after the second goal," said Dunne. "Let's be honest, it could have been worse as I felt they should have had a penalty at the end and they missed a couple of chances to make it 3-2. "At 2-0 we were in control and previously we had been dominating and seeing out games, but we brought it upon ourselves from two set plays where nobody is marking. "We have a strategy when extra people go into the box and it didn't kick in. We're disappointed at obviously drawing but it could have been worse. "We started to defend too deep which draws in pressure and we started to play in the wrong areas. It was a matter of time before they reaped their rewards and I thought Shrewsbury, for a period of 20 minutes, they deserved to get their point."
